The Flywheel
Meeting of APRIL 30th
Sadness and Laughter
This
week we received the sad news that Elof
Granberg—49 years a Rotarian—passed away in his
sleep on the morning of April 22nd. Only days earlier had
we learned that another great Rotarian, Werner
Schwarz, had also passed away. Both
men built rich, productive lives that brought
happiness to their families and friends. Both made significant
contributions to their communities.
Werner was a consumate comedian. Elof may also have had a talent for sharing his humor—this writer doesn't know. But this Friday, after two memorial services in as many weeks, our Club will meet and swap jokes, recount stories, and recall the passing of two old friends who certainly would have enjoyed this way of spending our time together.
Eric Granberg assembled two memorial pages, illustrated with great photos of Elof over the years. Download them here.
Last Meeting: April 23rd
Last Friday's meeting was cancelled in consideration of the Werner Schwarz memorial service, which occured on the same day.
