Miraflores Greenbelt Volunteer Work Party | Rotarians at Work

It was a beautiful day at the Miraflores Greenbelt Volunteer Work Party on May 23! Sun was shining and there were many smiling faces there to work to clean up the Miraflores Park. Richmond Rotary was there in force. Many thanks to all who came out to help and to the City of Richmond for organizing the event Looking forward to the completion of Rotary’s Miraflores Centennial project.

Peres K-8 3rd Grade After School Book Club

Orinda Rotary has partnered with Richmond Rotary for the last 5 years to sponsor the Peres K-8 3rd Grade After School Book Club.

On Tuesday. May 13, we celebrated the completion of the 10 session club with the 3 teachers and the students who shared with the Rotarians what they read, the stories they wrote and what they learned about various place in the world. Thanks you to teachers Jill Hope, Kathy Baker and Kayontaya Pace. Also thanks to Orinda Rotarian Ken Jew for initiating the partnership with Richmond.

Rotarians at Work | Eastshore and Crescent Park Neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt 2025

Richmond Rotary was proud to be a partner with the Eastshore and Crescent Park Neighborhood Councils’ “Easter Egg Hunt” on Saturday, April 19th at Booker T Anderson Park. Special thanks to Incoming President Nakele Obleton Rechenauer for providing the leadership and organization for our participation. Tremendous crowd and lots of smiling faces.

RPD Chief Bisa French and Michelle Milam, Richmond Rotarians, brought their positive energy and created a super fun environment for the kids.

Additional Richmond Rotary volunteers included the Menehune Don Lau, Simon Ellis, Rolanda Wilson, Ruthie Abelson Olivas, and Sarah Wally. Special thanks to Tiffany Harris for sending the games table from Bay Area Girls Club!

The event was a success due to generous donations from Nat Bates and Oakland Rotarian, Ahmad Anderson.

A fantastic time on Saturday April 12th at our RotaCare West Contra Costa Sip & Savor FUNdraiser. Thanks to all of our sponsors, vendors and volunteers. Richmond Rotary was proud to be a part of the amazing BARSHEEP Team that hosted this First Annual Event.

NIAD Reception Counter Replacement Project

On Saturday, March 29th, 11 Richmond Rotarians and some Berkeley Rotarians went to work at Nuturing Independence through Artistic Development (NIAD) removing the current reception counter which will be replaced with an accessible reception counter. We also constructed 6 storage cabinets.

This was Rotary President Henry Moe’s signature project for his year Rotarians at Work!
