Richmond CA Rotary Posted on April 30, 2025 by Nakele RechenauerApril 30, 2025

Richmond Rotary was proud to be a partner with the Eastshore and Crescent Park Neighborhood Councils’ “Easter Egg Hunt” on Saturday, April 19th at Booker T Anderson Park. Special thanks to Incoming President Nakele Obleton Rechenauer for providing the leadership and organization for our participation. Tremendous crowd and lots of smiling faces.

RPD Chief Bisa French and Michelle Milam, Richmond Rotarians, brought their positive energy and created a super fun environment for the kids.

Additional Richmond Rotary volunteers included the Menehune Don Lau, Simon Ellis, Rolanda Wilson, Ruthie Abelson Olivas, and Sarah Wally. Special thanks to Tiffany Harris for sending the games table from Bay Area Girls Club!

The event was a success due to generous donations from Nat Bates and Oakland Rotarian, Ahmad Anderson.

Happy Easter 🐣 to all!

Faith in Action
Jessi Taran

Up until now homeless people have been viewed as a problem that needs to be solved.

What I propose is that we instead view the homeless in terms of their economic potential. Instead of spending money on trying to fix the homeless problem, we should instead be investing in unhoused individuals in a way that allows them to add value back into the economy.

What I propose is the development of an OFF GRID tiny home community (RV park), for the chronically homeless, built around research and development of novel green energy paradigms. Residency requirements for would be tenants would include enrollment in a job skills training program – especially in the fields of green/alternative energy technology, sustainable agriculture, research protocols, waste management/recycling, etc.

Rotarians at Work | RPAL Paint Day

Richmond CA Rotary Posted on April 19, 2025 by Nakele RechenauerApril 19, 2025

Thursday April 17th was a special day for Richmond Rotary.

We helped paint and clean up the soon to open “Josh & Elaina Genser” Culinary Club at RPAL. Rotary also made a financial contribution via a District grant towards the purchase of key appliances for the kitchen. Very awesome way to honor the memory of Richmond Rotarian Josh Genser. We are now looking forward to having a meal at the kitchen! #rotariansatwork
