Rosie Rally & 25th Anniversary Festival
May 20, 2025 | RICHMOND, Calif. – In celebration of its 25th Anniversary, the Rosie the Riveter/WWII Home Front National Historical Park and Rosie the Riveter Trust will host the Rosie Rally & 25th Anniversary Festival on Saturday, June 7, 2025. This family-friendly festival will bring together generations to honor the enduring legacy of the women and men who powered America’s home front during World War II.
The festival will include live music and dance, food trucks, historic exhibits, hands-on kids’ activities, and a costume contest celebrating Rosie the Riveter’s legacy of strength, unity, and service. Community organizations, labor groups, and local elected officials will join in the festivities. A short program will honor ‘Real ‘Rosies’ – local women who worked on the World War II home front and are now in their late 90s and 100s.
The public is encouraged to dress in Rosie-the-Riveter-inspired gear or 1940s attire to participate in the costume contests. A 6-piece jazz band will play 1940s music and a swing dance demonstration and lesson will welcome all attendees to the dance floor. ‘Real Rosies’ will also be available for a Meet & Greet to sign Rosie the Riveter posters and other items. Kids’ activities will include games, art-making, and Junior Ranger activities hosted by park rangers. A hands-on activity will also be part of the Victory Garden exhibit.
The park is located along the San Francisco Bay Trail, and free bike valet service will be available for festival guests. Free parking is available at the Richmond Ferry Terminal and behind the Visitor Center & Ford Assembly Plant.
This signature event is part of a year-long celebration marking the creation of the park in 2000, the first national historical park to honor civilian contributions to the war effort. Earlier anniversary events have included the National Rosie the Riveter Day ceremony in March, and more are planned throughout the year.
