Annual Richmond Fire and Police Toy and Food Program 2023
SANTA’S BACKUP
When Santa needs backup, we go hard! There are so many people to thank for the success of today’s Fire and Police Toy Program giveaway.
Richmond Rotary was proud to partner with the Annual Richmond Fire and Police Toy and Food program by providing bikes. Thanks to retired Fireman Rod Woods for starting the program in 1989. Over 50 volunteers providing holiday smiles to 500 families.
Special thanks to our tireless board coordinators, Richmond Firefighters Local 188, the Richmond Police Officers Association , Chevron, Target, and the Richmond Rotary, City of Richmond Staff, the Richmond Fire Youth Academy & Richmond Explorer Post 110, and a host of community partners.
While year after year people see the amazing results, you may not know that it takes six months of planning, partnership, building, fundraisers, bike building, toy packing, food pick up and deliveries, nearly 100 volunteers and many sleepless nights to make this day happen.
But it’s all worth it to see the smiles on everyone’s faces
