We want to reduce the Urban Heat Island effect, particularly in low-income communities along I-80, by planting trees that will shade asphalt and concrete, partnering with Rotary Clubs, City staffs and elected officials, and other community groups. We have already made a presentation to the Community Projects Committee. The presentation will illustrate the need and solutions, asking for help from Richmond Rotarians.

We are a non-profit organization that makes solar energy accessible to those who need it the most. We
educate homeowners on reading their energy bills, improving energy efficiency, and applying to our free solar program.

Our goal is to reach income-qualified homeowners across the state, with a strong focus on the City of Richmond. We currently have resources available to help residents participate in a state- and city-funded energy efficiency program that supports community-led climate efforts, particularly in areas like Richmond that are disproportionately impacted by environmental and air quality issues.

On Saturday, April 4, Richmond Rotary President-Elect Cecilia Orozco presented a $1,000 grant to EB Bombers, supporting their continued efforts to empower youth through teamwork, discipline, and community engagement.

This contribution reflects Richmond Rotary’s commitment to investing in local programs that create positive opportunities and lasting impact for young people in our community.

Richmond Rotary was pleased to make a donation to SOS Richmond to assist with replacing their $80,000 shower trailer that serves homeless encampments in West County.
