Moving Forward Scholarship Program

Richmond Rotary is proud to provide support to Moving Forward for their Scholarship Program and assist with this year’s back to school giveaway at Stege Elementary School. The grant was sponsored by Rotarian Ruthie Abelson Olivas. 2025 Annual Rotary Holiday Auction

On Friday 12/12, over 70 Rotarians and their guests gathered for the Annual Rotary Holiday Auction. There were 17 Live Auction, 42 Silent Auction, and 5 cakes auctioned off which raised $36,000 in 2 hours!! All proceeds will benefit local and international projects supported by Richmond Rotary! This was truly a FUNdraiser and we appreciate the generous contributions of all who attended. Happy Holidays to all! Rotarians at Work

Rotarians honored by District Governor Joy Alaidarous: Mac Lingo, Don Lau, Brian Fay, Aaron Winer

On October 31st, our esteemed Mac Lingo was honored with the coveted Major Donor award by our District Governor Joy Alaidarous for his continued generosity to the Rotary foundation. Mac joined us today after having heart surgery yesterday! A big thank you to Mac and lets wish him well in his recovery.

Our incredible Don Lau was honored today with the Building Bridges Award for his ginormous contribution to the club and the community. Thank you Don!

Our awesome Brian Fay was presented the Paul Harris Plus 7 award for his continued generosity to the Rotary foundation. His contributions have really made a difference and we appreciate him. Thank you Brian.

Aaron Winer was recognized for his continued work on the Rotary Polio Campaign. Thank you Aaron!

Richmond Rotary supports the community

Richmond Rotary presented checks of support to our grant recipients:

Richmond Red Oak Victory – Support for ongoing Educational programs for K through 12th grade.

SparkPoint Contra Costa – Support for Rental assistance for low-income residents, Down payment assistance for first-time homebuyers, Enrollment support for EBMUD’s Water Lifeline Program, which helps eligible households cover past-due water and sewer bills.

Richmond Promise – Support for the Annual Scholars Celebration.

Richmond Art Center – Support for the 63rd Annual Holiday Arts Festival on Sunday, December 7, 2025, from 10am-4pm at Richmond Art Center.

Food for Thought – Support for Food boxes for 720 families at 16 schools during the school winter break: Chicken, rice, beans, pasta, oatmeal, and fresh produce.

Support for Peres elementary school teachers

On October 29, President Nakele Rechenauer was honored to join Rotarian Erle Brown and present $100 checks to the hard working teachers at Peres K-8 school. Erle started this program to recognize the incredible dedication of our teachers.
